A driver who was three times over the alcohol limit and
hit the kerb, forcing the airbags to deploy was reported
to the authorities by his vehicle.

According to reports, Mercedes cars have had this since
2014, I have to admit that I had never heard of it till today,
but it is a good idea.

I have heard about cars that won't start if they
detect alcohol, but it was a failure, so back to
the drawing board, the model refused to start,
for a sober driver because a passenger had been
drinking, I haven't heard if they have solved that
problem.

Perhaps in a vehicle like a London Black Cab, where
the driver is isolated.

Great idea, wish more auto manufacturers would have this feature. Would be handy also in an accident on a less travelled road.

I thought they had something out where several times convicted drunk drivers had to blow into something and if alcohol was detected the car would not start.
