Hello all. This is my first post after discovering your site. I'm a 67 year old male. After doing barbell and dumbbell bench presses for over 50 years, both flat and incline, I gave them up and substituted Perfect Pushups discs in my upper workout for the last 15 months due to a recent long distance move.
A couple days ago I came across online videos of folks of both sexes and age groups doing the dumbbell floor press. Most of them seemed to be fans of such while giving their reasons.
This afternoon I decided to give them a whirl and after a good stretch & warmup I grabbed a pair of 55 lb. dumbbells and did one set of 10 for a test run while trying to employ proper tempo & form. While the floor does limit range of motion on the bottom end ( likely a good thing for me with one shoulder being less than perfect ) I must say they felt good and I do like them.
Do some of you here do them, have tried them & if so your general opinions on them vs bench ?
Thanks.
