Early Education workers pay rise

Not before time.

Early education workers have been granted a 15% increase, with a further 5% after one year.
This increase is funded by the federal government with a condition attached.
Employers who want to access this money to pay staff must not increase their fees by more than 4%.

Child care is already subsidised by state governments and parents' payments have been subsidised by the federal government, subject to a means test.

These types of programs are becoming more common in the United States.

I may be ignorant and old fashioned but I would much prefer to see that everyone is paid a living wage and taught to manage that wage to provide for themselves and their families without expanding the government bureaucracy.
