Effects of Wind Storm

Power outage lasted for about an hour and a half - around 9:15 to 10:45 pm. About a half an hour later the cable service went out and was out until around 4:45 am this morning. Didn't sleep well because I need the TV on to do that. I was also worried if I didn't have phone or Internet access and the realtor tried to contact me about a showing. I had to go around this morning before church and pick up a fair amount of twigs and branches blown down as well as a few shingles.

Sounds like is time for a nap! I don't sleep well either if my tv is not on. I get nervous when the weather starts affecting it. I may not be really watching it but I like the noise.

Same here, I have my TV on even if I'm reading, I like background noise, especially of an evening.

There's a familiar phrase "deafening silence". That's what I hear if the TV isn't on.

Strange, I live in PA, and the cable went out last night, too. I live, alone, in the sticks. About the noisiest thing is a deer munching on grass. The quiet is great for about 10 minutes, then it gets to be boring, and spooky. The super quiet can get to you. The TV is on a lot, but thankfully I don't need it to sleep.

I'm afraid if I lie down I will fall asleep and there's a movie I want to see that's airing in 2 hours.
