Egg prices will remain high

Last week 5 doz large were $USD 35, this week $USD 39. Final cost last week w 10% wisdom discount and Idaho's highly regressive, and totally unfair sales tax on food of 6% was $6.68/doz.

My DD who is wintering in Texas is shocked by the price and the size of eggs. Even her Texan friend says they’re smaller.

Checked to see if we're getting low on eggs here, and the shelves were full.. but just in case, I got another dozen large eggs...£2.70 = $3.35 US

The sizes of individual eggs in a carton do seem uneven but the weight for a dozen large eggs is set at 24 ounces.

  • Extra large: 27 ounces
  • Large: 24 ounces
  • Medium: 21 ounces
  • Small: 18 ounces
  • Jumbo: 30 ounces

I forgot about those. DH has an egg weighing scale from the days his mother sold eggs.

Maybe they’re heavy shells or someone is keeping their thumb on the scale. 😉

Eggs are now $10.00 a carton here and that isn't even the organic ones. I'm still going to buy eggs because I believe food prices will go way up in the future because of tariffs and no one to harvest.
My neighbor is one of the only guys I know who's always had chickens in his backyard even now. I bet he's either laughing, selling eggs or guarding the
You know what happened to the fox?
