Eggs Down to $2.99 a Dozen!

I just paid £2.15 ($2.66 or so) for 15 eggs. The price have GONE UP a bit. Eggs are cheap.

The foxes will be happy. These eggs go to them - two at a time - each evening.

If these prices for eggs are only because of avian influenza, then the possibility of milk prices rising is real. The flu has been found in some dairy cattle.
My understanding is that avian flu kills birds, but only sickens cows for a period of time. Not sure if it will (or already has) affected milk prices because I don't drink dairy milk.

In Bay Area, CA, eggs today at supermarket were ten bucks. Yup. Ten bucks for a dozen. Not even organic.

The local store had eggs yesterday, ranging from $4.49 USD/doz to $12 something/doz. I took two cartons of the $4.49, brown cage-free no hormones etc etc etc, thinking the price was wrong. Nope. Asked the checker about it; he said the price just depends on the source price. So now I have 3.5 doz eggs in the fridge.
