Eight Children Dead In Louisiana Through Domestic Violence

Two women were also shot but survived. From KSLA News 12:

"Officials said they’re still gathering details about the crime scene, which extends across four locations. The four locations include two homes in which gunshot victims were found, the scene of a carjacking in which the suspect reportedly stole a car, and the scene where the suspect was shot dead in Bossier City."

Here is the link from NBC. I haven't read through the whole article yet, but it appears that there were two separate shootings.

Mass Shootings
I just read it in the news.... this is absolutely horrendous!..... what a terrible thing to happen...

At least 10 people were shot, and eight juveniles including a baby

At least 10 people were shot, and eight juvenile victims died after the Shreveport Police Department was called just after 6am to reports of a domestic disturbance involving the suspected shooter, Shamar Elkins, 31.

The youngest victim in the unfathomable tragedy was 18 months old, and the eldest was 14 years old.

Shamar Elkins (picutred center) , 31, allegedly opened fire early Sunday morning in Shreveport, Louisiana, killing eight young children. Police have yet to confirm the identities of the children killed

Some of the children killed were 'descendants' of Elkins, police said, without providing further details.

Two adult women survived the bloody incident after being shot in the head, meanwhile a young boy who was also at the home when gunfire erupted was seen jumping from the roof in a bid to escape the attack, KTBS reported.

The horrific ordeal unfolded across three different locations. The first, 300 block of West 79th Street near Linwood Avenue, was where the children were massacred in a home just a stone's throw away from a Baptist church.

Elkins then performed a carjacking at that location and led officers on a high-speed chase, traveling a quarter-mile away to Harrison Street, between Wallace Avenue and Bernstein Avenue.

He then drove to the third location, in Bossier Parish, on Brompton Lane near Long Acre Drive. He was shot and killed by police there.

The crime scene was described as 'rather extensive' by police spokesperson Christopher Bordelon. 'We do believe him to be the only individual that fired gunshots at these locations here,' he added.

Another case of a divorce or break up and mindset of all or nothing. 'If I don't get what I want nobody will." Which unfortunately includes children.

At this point anytime I see married or couple murders that includes the spouse, kids and/or self somebody probably started talking divorce or break-up. Sore entitled losers to say the least.

RIP those killed especially the children who never had a chance.

I am always shocked when I hear of violent acts against children. One of my best people watching endeavors is seeing parents and their children in public settings. You can sense the strength of their family unit with very simple acts. I especially like to see the very young children because they are so open with their expressions. Our whole family dout on the little ones in our family and share bonds that don't end as they grow into their own personalities. No matter the age of our children, grandchildren or great-grandchildren I still see the baby traits that really never leave.

The most dangerous time for women escaping abusive relationships and coercive control is when they make an exit. The men who choose violence will hurt their former partners anyway they, this is an extreme example of such hurt.
I don't want to try to guess at the cause of this tragedy, but the info you stated is accurate.. and I've also heard of a couple of situations in which individuals murdered their own small children because they resented being required to pay child support.. 😢

I have seen dead children and also attended their funeral. It’s absolutely heartbreaking. Why adults feel it necessary to kill a children to settle a domestic dispute is beyond my understanding. It’s bad enough when a child is killed accidentally, but when it’s intentional, that’s a sure way to end up on death row. People have very little to zero tolerance when it comes to harming a child, let alone 8 of them.

You're the type of person this country needs more of..
