Elderly Rights - Do They Have Any?

It’s awful that a DNR would be ignored. People have a right to choose their destiny. Both my parents had them when older and sick.
I agree. I don’t know what the various state laws are on DNRs. I do know the government is very liberal with invasive religions that want to control other people’s bodies. If their tax exempt status was revoked, the United States could get out of the national debt and fund Social Security ad infinitum.

It’s nice to hear from someone with first hand experience. Many seniors just assume things and share their assumptions without thinking about the real world steps involved.
People don’t understand Ann !!
this is what caring is all about !!
some not very nice out there !!!

This thread is clear indication that a lot of seniors aren't aware of their rights and how to protect them.

Explanations of senior rights are available online, and the documents you need to protect your assets and your right to chose where you live are free. You should get them notarized - in fact, some of those documents are null if they aren't notarized.

Some banks will discuss how to protect all your accounts, and some will keep copies of all the relative documents. Your doctor can help, too, and they have documents.
