Electric car 'sets huge cargo ship on fire in North Sea': One sailor dead

Same with electric bikes. On of the grands had a one of those electric two wheel board things. One day her dad noticed the battery was getting VERY hot while it was being charged. He disconnected it, removed the battery for recycling, and tossed the thing. We may need special metal lined boxes to recharge the things.

Our fire investigators believe the most probable cause of the fire is due to a lithium battery pack failure, that was charging an e-bike.'

Many households were affected by the fire, with surrounding houses damaged by the blaze. Mr Corrol said the Residents Association had given the six houses affected £500 each to deal with the damage.
Another death....

A father has died in a house fire after a lithium battery pack charging an e-bike is believed to have caught fire.

Firefighters rushed to a home in Woodyard Close, Kentish Town, London just after 7am on July 6 after receiving 13 frantic calls about the fire, which took more than two hours to control.

They sent around ten fire engines and 70 firefighters to try and rescue the father who tragically died in the blaze that completely destroyed his home.

Five people had left the building before the fire crews arrived and firefighters found the man - believed to have two children - on the ground floor of the property.

Billy Corrol, Chairman of the Tenants and Residents Association in Woodyard Close, said: 'Everyone is totally devastated. When you see it, it's like a rocket has just hit a house and blew up. That's the damage it's caused. That house is totally gone.'
