I don't use Twitter or Facebook, but I think Musk is a genius. Perhaps one day, when/if he gets tired of making billions, he will run for the Presidency. A person with his skills could go a long way towards solving a lot of the nations problems....And, he wouldn't need to be in the "Special Interests" hip pocket.

I have a low opinion of any billionaire who spends his money on getting to other planets rather than on the planet he lives on. His billions could save the lives of the starving on the very continent where he was born and grew up.
And, having anyone that wealthy controlling the conversation never works out well.

Seems a little too like a monopoly to me...

It's not great that one man privately owns it, but the board of the public entity has been described by Jack Dorsey--cofounder of Twitter--as toxic. If Elon Musk runs it with an emphasis on free speech which is his stated goal, then he's the lesser of the two evils.

Elon Musk told the United Nations he would give them $6 billion to end world hunger if they showed him a detailed plan of how they would use the money. They called his bluff and gave him their plan— and then they never got the money. Now he’s buying Twitter for $45 billion.

Just read about that. That all took place in November 2021. He had a condition for fiscal transparency. Direct quote: “open source accounting, so the public sees precisely how the money is spent.” Dunno whether or not that was met but Bloomberg reported that he did donate 6 billion in November 2021 to charity per an SEC Exchange filing that did not specify the recipient.

I don't know who the person is that tweeted the above post, but he is a poor researcher and sounds envious.
