The crap food at Costco the food taste testers are peddling and I've gone to Costco hungry and I buy it, bring it home and wonder why I thought it tasted so good.
As you said, c'es la vie - at least I got a lot of fun out of it, and a lot of stories to tell.![]()
(fill in the blank)
Did you ever spend your hard-earned money on something really dumb then later (maybe even many years down the line) ask "What was I thinking?!”
In 1988 the morning radio station I listened to had a popular “psychic” as a guest. People were calling in (supposedly) and she was telling them amazing things about their past, and also predicting things which would happen in the future. They gave a number your could call to meet with the woman at a (nice) hotel for a 30 minute "consultation". I called and made an appointment – the fee was $90.
As I think back, it was such baloney. Nothing she said came true, but I dunno, maybe she was telling me things I really wanted to happen. By the way, I checked and that $90 would be $184 in today’s dollars. Wasted. (Gulp)
I remember telling my older brother about it but I didn't tell him how much I paid. He was laughing too hard about me even calling to make an appointment. :lofl:
I just checked and that psychic (Allene Cunningham) is still around, but retired (very comfortably, I'm sure). http://www.trinda.net/blog/meet-allene-cunningham/
Any other confessions?
I bought one of these once because I wanted a low maintenance pet but I had to give it up because it was always stoned.
I often wonder how many people get "caught" buying stuff advertised on TV on morning and late night shows .
I must admit ! I bought a NutriBullet that was advertised on TV ....,but I do use it most days not only for smoothies but for other jobs like making castor sugar ,stuffing for chicken ,almond meal ,making/ preparing quiche ingredients ( just throw the eggs flour milk cheese ,canned tuna if using ...in and mix)
