I can sympathize. When my wife and I returned to the U.S. from Germany, she barely spoke a hundred words of English. Even now, after 50+ years, she still occasionally says something that makes me grin (to myself). Some have said that English is one of the most complex, and hardest languages to master...and I believe it.
