Pet donkey found 'living best life' with elk, five years after escape

Well, ain't this a nice story. Something to bring a smile to your face. I love donkeys, their ei-or! is just hilarious. Ducks and donkeys are great.

"A pet donkey that escaped his owners five years ago in California has been found "living his best life" with a herd of wild elk.

Terrie and Dave Drewry, of Auburn, are convinced the animal, filmed by a hiker earlier in June, is their pet "Diesel".

The couple say they are relieved the animal is safe - and have decided to let him wander free with a new family as a "wild burro" ."

Yep. Bought about 100 range ewes( sheep) once and had them trucked to my home in wyoming. One ewe in particular took great offense…jumped the fence and ran about a mile to the neighbors cows. Took about a year to get her back…she had a big cow buddy she hung with.

Donkeys are so adorable and funny. I did see this story and it is lovely.

How sweet! My cousin went on a retreat and posted pictures of herself with a donkey. I commented on the photos and she replied that she didn't know that donkeys had such "sweet dispositions". It's good that this donkey is apparently happy being free with his new family.

There is always something about an animal joining a herd of a completely different type of animal. They are completely different but are trying to conform.
