"ETA" now means "estimated time of next accident"

"ETA" was airport speak for "Estimated Time of Arrival", but lately "ETA" seems to mean "Estimated Time of next Accident". Is it me, or does it seem like our airlines are falling apart, and so are the planes?

My sisters want me to go on a short trip with them in a couple of weeks, but I'm not in the mood right now to get on a plane.

One of them has made a reservation for me, anyway, as she can cancel day-of and get her air points back.

I might change my mind.....

I think it’s just the instant updates to the news cycle that are now available due to the internet and the amount of time to fill in today’s 24/7 cable programming.

If I had a reason to fly, I wouldn’t hesitate.

I hear that Fuzzybuddy. I've been hearing about mishaps, some quite serious almost daily. In the last couple of weeks there have been three or four airplanes on fire. Then there were ones who tried to take off or land on something that wasn't a runway and landing gear collapsing.

And here's one...a lot less serious, but incredible nonetheless. In the last couple of weeks, two pilots (separate flights) had to turn around because they forgot their passports. One plane was on its way to China.

I've always believed that the most dangerous part of the flight is the drive to the airport.
