Ever Been Misled by Online Household Advice?

There’s so darn much info available now. You should be really cautious of Tik Tok, FB and similar sites. Heck, maybe even here. I make it a point of searching for more info on a hint. Better safe than sorry.

Yesterday I read a household hint to clean your oven by heating a dishwasher tab in a dish of water in your oven. Apparently this all over these sites and now they’re reporting it’s causing damage to the ovens.

I don't remember if I have ever followed bad house chore advice. I have probably followed bad shopping advice but I can usually always return stuff.

But I have read others giving the unwitting bad and dangerous household chore advice. If I'm on the site I'll try to correct them.

But, this is just one reason why I see the Internet as a giant, dangerous orphan child desperately in need of parents, i.e. LAWS, to rule its dangerous behavior. But Congress is not feeling parental and does not want to adopt the Internet right now.

It's like this orphan is a slave for the economy and Congress is not done getting all of the slave labor it can out of the thing before they want to reign it in and adopt it. Very Jeffersonian. (I mean that as an insult.)
