I had never heard of Zoom so I went looking and found
Zoom offers a full-featured Basic Plan for free with unlimited meetings. Try Zoom for as long as you like - there is no trial period. Both Basic and Pro plans allow for unlimited 1-1 meetings, each meeting can have a duration of 24 hours maximum.

My hubby shares Zoom classes with his ESL students and 2 other teachers, 3 hrs. per week.
It works very well for them.
 
We used in for a "birthday party" for one of my adult grandsons. Family members from 5 different states were on the call, and I got to see my 5 year old twin great grandsons for the first time.

I use Zoom for on line business meetings all the time. Better than Skype in my opinion for video conferencing.
There's a funny You Tube video about a lawyer trying to do a Zoom meeting with 2 other lawyers and a judge. Someone (probably a kid) put a cat filter on the lawyers zoom app so when he called into the meeting, it looked like he was a talking cat 😂 Poor guy had no clue how to disable the filter lol.

 
I have been using ZOOM for quite awhile. It's better than any other meeting platform, including GoToMeeting, Skype or Google Hangouts.
I think on the "free" plan, you only get 40 minutes.
 
My DIL and Honorary Daughter who are both in the school system use Zoom as well as my two youngest grandchildren, high school students who are remote learning right now. I used Zoom for the first time to access our timeshare annual owners meeting last summer.
 
I group chat on WhatsApp , but never tried zoom......what’s the difference and how do you download it ?
 
In May,I started doing weekly Zoom meetings with my brother&family because I don't know when I will see them again in person..It doesn't cost my anything because one of my neices has a 'Zoom' account for her business.
Our older sister Mary who lives in England joined the 'family meetings' in late Dec,I haven't seen her in 8 yrs,wonderful to see her,its the highlight of my week
