Ever Think You Recognize Someone On A Forum?

Jumping in here; I would think that the Admins here would know the ip address and would recognize someone from before that was banned. I am only guessing as I figure they know where I am and I don't care as I have nothing to hide (except from someone here who might be crazy enough and angry at me for something I might have said and they might come after me so I don't list my last name).
 

Well, not people from real life, but have "found" people from past forums on new forums I have joined. Usually because they use the same or similar user names. If it is someone I have not interacted with in a while, it IS nice to reconnect. Older members here may remember Lon. I had met him several years before coming here while on another forum.

it's very easy for people who are banned to return using a different IP adress, and they often do. However it's also not very long before they give themselves away again with the same reasons they were banned in the first place, and are banned again. Sometimes we get people coming back multiple times on forums under various aliases and new IP addresses.. ..
 
I had 2 identities here because I joined in 2012 and then somehow drifted away and forgot about it. Joined again in 2015 and thought I came across someone I had a lot in common with (when an old post came up regarding someone famous who had died.) and it turned out to be myself! I was shocked at first. Anyway, now I just use this one and I'm guessing since we came to the new board my old profile and picture are long gone.
