Every year I get it ...........

@Keesha I guess some people are just reading your title, and not the content and question within the post! 😂

I'm careful when I hike, or when we take the grandkids to the creek, because poison ivy grows copiously around here. But thankfully not in the backyard, or where I routinely go to walk.

Lol.... no problem. People can share whatever they’d like. It’s actually better this way.

I’m usually more careful on the trails and keep away from the poison ivy but lately they’ve been more people on the trails like horseback riders and motorcyclists so I have to step off the main path to let them by. Of course my dogs step off the path too and anywhere their nails touch me I get infected. This year has been a bit worse than normal. Some places it can spread are scary .... 🥺
Unfortunately we have a huge patch at the very back of our property which I never step in but the dogs do. In fact there’s a lot of poison ivy around here to watch out for. I’m just not good at watching out for it , I guess. Lol

No poison Ivy in our yard or forest....But, every year around this time I get clobbered with Chigger bites....even though I try to remember to spray myself with some Deet, whenever I'm working outdoors. I have to keep a good supply of Cortizone 10, or some other "anti-itch" cream on hand to keep from scratching myself all day.

I never got it as a child but I do now. I think it likes to grow among pine trees. My neighbor has a row of them and in the fall the whole tree looks bright red from the vines of the poison ivy growing up into them.
I have a ground cover on my property right near it and since it has recently been planted I have to weed it quite often. I'm sure thats where I'm getting it.
I mentioned it to my neighbor but they rent the house. Calling the owner did nothing.
Even when it dries it makes me sneeze so I wear a mask in the fall when I rake..

I had to look up what chiggers are. I’m not sure we get them here but the result basically looks the same. Lol

Apparently we DO get chiggers here in Ontario. I didn’t know that however this is definitely poison ivy.

I don't know. My procrastination catches up with me. It's like being bit by something.
my income taxes done on April 14, at 11:58 PM.
my car inspected 8 hours before the sticker expires.
buy Christmas presents on the way to the party.
get a gas station Mother's Day card.
Each year, the same bug bites me.

No poison Ivy in our yard, but we have Chiggers!! Also I usually get stung by Hornets/wasps once every spring!! Not so this year.(yet)

I know that I have been around poison ivy several times including having it in the corner of our property in Virginia, but for some unknown reason it has never affected me at all. It sure made my neighbor miserable every year.

I don't have any allergies, and was never exposed to poison ivy.
The only problem I had was when I was a child there were nettles in the yard. Accidentally touching those things can be unpleasant!!
We have stinging nettle on our property too. At least the sting only lasts for a day or so. Poison ivy can last up to 2 weeks. Whine, whine, complain, complain. 😂😇

I had it a few times as a child, but I remember how awful it was.

Just yesterday, I walked my dog in a different side of our woods than we usually go and I saw her walking in poison ivy! Rushed out of there quickly.

I rubbed her down with wet paper towels when we came in. So far, so good.

@Keesha I hope yours goes away soon!

Poison Ivy!!!!
It’s wicked stuff and sweating in this heat with it?😏....

Anybody else get this stuff yearly. My dogs get it on their paws and pass it to me every year.

Eh, here in the deep woods I never see any poison ivy. I don't think I'm susceptible to it anyways (never had it) so maybe that's why I never notice it.

I remember though, as kids, my one sis got it very easily.
