In the 80’s a good friend of mine had a mare who birthed twins at home. Even though the vet was heavily involved, her sisters and I split shifts at the barn, one foal did not survive. It was crushing to say the least.
Also and FYI, maybe 15? or so years back, country singer Charlie Daniels had a Paint mare that gave birth to twins. They both survived.
