Facebook log in problems anyone?

Hello all,

Last night I was sitting here at my computer when all of a sudden I got the little spinning circle in the middle of the screen, and all my Facebook pages disappeared. So I rebooted my PC and tried to open Faebook again, whereupon I got a box in the middle of my screen telling me I had to do a video selfie so that Facebook could confirm that I'm human.

Well, being the suspicious and cynical person I am, I haven't yet commited my face to the screen. I'm a little worried that this video mugshot will be filed away for future blackmail use by Facebook, or perhaps by their advertising partners so that they can personalise any ads delivered through Facebook pages to me.

Whatever the reason they may give for this, I suspect that if I were to try to open more than one Facebook account under different names (not that I have done so you understand ;)), Facebook would instantly be able to link them all back to my original member profile, so privacy and anonymity on the internet would effectively be dead.
 

I hate FB, but once in a while I get on it.

Yesterday an AI voice came on and said something had been detected, but I shouldn’t get out of the system. I should do something else instead. I can’t remember what it all said, but I was so P.O.’d by then I did log out. I cleaned the cache. I got back on several hours later just to see and everything was OK.

So yes, something is up with Facebook. I try really hard not to use it but once in a while I do.
 

No problems for me.
And I have never heard of anyone having to upload a photo to log on. Sounds like a scam or a virus to me!
