A recent study says fake smiling at work ie those perky always in a good mood customer service employees can lead to increased drinking in off time/at home.

Actually that's a good sign-sarcasm. Shows people hate butt kissing.

All I expect from any customer service rep ie waiter, rep, sales person etc is courtesy, honesty and conscientiousness. Do I have to be bombarded with scripted fake greetings or sales pitches-no.

That being said they say it's takes a special personality to work with the public. You have to want to work with or don't mind working with people. There are too many people in jobs for a paycheck. Nothing wrong with that and if one puts it in perspective as a job and not their life they would be much better off.
