False Teeth

Jaminhealth, they're not before and after pictures. I already told you the pictures were taken at the same time, within seconds. You don't need to wonder or diagnose.

Coming from the POV of my 2nd set of dentures in 10 years...
It turned out my 1st set was either not measured right or were not my teeth, they were nothing short of miserable,I really wore them.
I came into some money in '16 and decided to get a decent set.
The top plate generally causes few problems because of the suction, the bottom sort of floats and tends to slip, even with boatloads of adhesive, however, there is a solution, which I am still kicking myself for not doing but it's not cheap...they put 4 anchor implants,2 on each side and the bottom denture clips to those, holding it in place,it's some type of hinge system.
I did 1-800 dentures, got there by 8,the teeth were done by 3p.m. I paid a little over 900.00 and would go back of the need arises.

Everything went great CeeCee and with 4 extractions and replacing some fillings I feel great. I didn't need the 15 Vicodin he prescribed and didn't even need an Ibuprofen. I am taking the antibiotics though because my husband thinks I'll sure die if I don't. I believe the White Oak Bark I've taken ever since my first tooth broke off 3 or 4 years ago has kept my mouth in pretty good shape. This is what fear will do for you.....if I'd just went in years ago. I am going back April 1st to get 2 bridges or plates or whatever they are called. I can't recall now.

I'm so surprised my mouth isn't swollen or sore really. A little tender where the extractions were. This morning I ate steel cut oatmeal with raisins and pine nuts.

Don, I didn't mean to hijack your thread.

Thanks Holly. You know, I don't know how that sedation works but I didn't feel woozy or dizzy or anything afterwards. I did feel tired the rest of the day but I think that was more from not sleeping the night before.

Last time I had sedation probably 20 years ago to get my wisdom teeth removed , they told me that I needed to get someone to drive me home.. I nearly didn't, and was going to drive myself home..thank goodness I didn't. I woke from the sedation, felt absolutely fine , felt that I could have driven home.. but thank goodness I didn't, because when I got home, I had absolutely no recollection after a few hours of how I got there...LOL

Things might have changed in 20 years..:D

No, I'm glad to hear that all went well with your teeth...the primary reason why I started this topic is to get other people's experiences. I go in early next week to get an estimate on my issues, and will hopefully have this all behind me by mid-April, I've done a bunch of searching on the Web, and I'm really leaning towards getting all these old teeth, crowns, and root canals taken out, and replaced with a full set of high quality dentures. From both a practical, and financial perspective, it looks like dentures is the best option...I could easily wind up spending thousands more, over the next few years, for repairs and bridges, etc., than just doing it once and getting it over with. I'll see what the dental clinic says next week.
