In Minnesota, a relative shot the whole family while they slept including the dog. The second link below has several photos of the family in happier times.

"In 32 years, we haven't seen anything like this, when we've had four victims of a homicide," [Police Chief Tusken.]

The victims were publicly identified by police following next-of-kin notification as Riana Lou Barry, 44; Sean Christopher Barry, 47; Shiway Elizabeth Barry, 12; and Sadie Lucille Barry, 9.

City Council president Arik Forsman: "I knew this family. They were our neighbors in Lakeside for a period of time. Many of their neighbors in the East Hillside knew them for selling Girl Scout cookies up by the Copper Top Church. Riana was such a good mom and always with her girls."

The gunman had no criminal record and supposedly suffered from mental illness. He posted on social media:

'I cannot fathom how I came to this decision, but I do know this. If there is a God sitting in heaven, I wish so much that he grant my family the most peaceful heavenly afterlife possible. I love you all and please know I knew you all loved me. I tried my best to fight it. Good bye.'
 

Gee, I don’t have the words for this right now. I have to re-read the articles and give this more thought. I do remember reading about other family members killing their family. I remember the John List story.
 
Growing up, a father two houses down, killed himself and his entire family. We heard the shots and then heard what happened the next day on December 26. Still haunts me when I think about it.
 
It seems to be part of the mental illness. They seem to get so deluded that they kill the family because they think it will save them from the sufferings of life? Something weird like that.

Maybe someday they will figure out what goes wrong and be able to help these people, years and years earlier, before they get this bad...
 
John List murders happened right near here. In Westfield, NJ. We are in Union, just two towns over. Used to go to Westfield all the time. Very very nice town. Colonial history, like here. Whitney Houston is buried there. Horrible to think of those murders happening in such a nice town.
 
A similar thing has happened in East London today.. 4 members of the same family killed, including the 63 year old Matriarch..

A grandmother has been named as one of four members of the same family stabbed to death in a home by a man in his 20s believed to be known to them.


Dolet Hill, 63, was described by a woman claiming to be her niece as a ‘very lovely lady’ who ‘looked over everybody’.


Neighbours called 999 shortly before 2am on Monday after hearing piercing screams from the terraced house in Bermondsey, south-east London.


Armed police broke into the property and found four people with knife wounds including Ms Hill, a man in his 60s and two women in their 40s and 30s.

Hey, I got an idea. Let's buy everybody a gun, so we won't have to live in fear.
 
Every day that goes by and I get older, I read less and less news. Yesterday I looked at a website for "The Guardian" newspaper in the UK. Big story there everyday about Putin and Ukraine. Yesterday, they claimed that Ukrainian women are being raped before they are being shut. I deleted the "The Guardian" website. Enough is enough.

Seems the world loves violence. I don't. I think there should be more happy music and a lot less of news.
