Family Jewellery - Do You Have Any

Yes, my mother left me not only jewelry but other old family things that she loved, some valuable and some not, I started giving them to my children and grandchildren years ago. I hope they'll realize the sentimental value and hold on to them. I'll leave my jewelry to my daughter in my will.

Not a good comparison in any way. But I feel compelled to share.

I had a dog. She was fantastic. She'd sleep in my arms right to the end. I had her as a puppy. I never got around to naming her, so her name remained "Puppy". Anyway, she passed, as dogs do. Age. They asked me if I wanted her ashes, and of course I said, "yes".

Biggest mistake I could have made. I look at that urn, I see ashes. She wasn't ashes. I can't throw them away, because it's her. My dog. But damn, I hate those damn ashes. They're like a curse.
Totally get it. I too have dog ashes; in a box; with the collar and dog tag. It was Buddy my flat coat retriever. So there he sits, in a box with his collar (the box locks - why they put a lock on an urn box, I have no clue...who is going to steal dog ashes??), on a bookshelf with his photo beside him. Maybe I will scatter him across the Rockies where we used to roam together.

@VaughanJB I have my last two cats ashes and wish I didn't. I will have any other cats cremated in mass cremation and scattered. There is a pet cemetery not too far away. I have their ashes in a drawer. Put the ashes away someplace where you don't see them or scatter them someplace.
