I can't find a thread specifically about shoes but figured that shoes and handbags go together so I'm posting here.

A shoe commercial made me wonder how it is that shoes come in particular sizes. Is it carved in stone somewhere that everybody in the world has feet of a size that fits into a predetermined shoe size?

Or is it that after hundreds of years of humans, it's been determined that our feet only vary by millimeters; therefore, shoes are made that accommodate all people.

I know this is a pressing question that has been on all y'all's minds all your lives. What's the answer?

I don't know Gigi...I've often wondered the same myself..

You might be better asking on the main forum, there might be some Cobblers. or some genius who knows..(y)
