Fashion Statements of the Sixties/Seventies

I was too young for sixties fashion. I was still in primary school but by 1966 I did pester my mom for a pair of go-go boots. She bought me pair that was olive green suede and I loved them and wore them to death. Mine were comfortable and they didn't look cheap either which I also loved. Patty, Twiggy is the top photo then Jean Shrimpton, Michelle Phillips, Grace Slick and Jean Shrimpton 1965 is on the bottom. I think they capture the sixties look pretty well.

It was great having absolutely straight hair when it came into fashion. I didn't need to, but, I did iron it once .. just for the heck of it.

Lovin the tie-dye. I was a 'Flower Child' back in the day.

I had a Nehru jacket in the 1960’s; it was pumpkin-colored. Sadly, it never brought me enlightenment. Neither did the bold-checked pants that I wore in the early 70’s… *sighs*.

I arrived in senior school age 12.. in '67... I got to wear a mini skirt, altho' the school rules said we couldn't have it more than 3 inches above our knees, we rolled them up anyway..... I got to wear American Tan tights, ooooh the sophistication... .. we had school uniform to wear so not allowed to wear fashion clothes, which was a great thing for may of us who had parents who wouldn't have paid for fashionable clothing...

There was only one girl our age in school who was a Flower child.. she came to school wearing several bells around her neck with flowers in here hair... she was completely ignored by everyone .. but then she never went out of her way to make friends...
