Duffy in F Troop
"do you remember the alamo? There i was with Crockett. Davey that is. Canonballs flying everywhere. I says to Davey I says ..... "

Dr Smith in Lost in Space.
cant remember exact quotes but he was refreshingly human compared to
the squeaky clean Robinsons.
oh and the way he talked to the robot.

Basils wife in Fawlty Towers
she was annoyingly competent compared to Basil and the way she gossipped on the phone to her friends " yes i know"

Ronnie Barker in Porridge.
"what! you want us to fill up those bottles with our urine from here?"
(they were lined up about 10 metres from the table/desk.)

David Brent in The Office
Gervais created cringe humour here. Brent was such a fascinating character. i felt him weirdly charismatic despite his chronic narcisism and poor self awareness. what a brilliant study of a human being .

Sophia Petrillo in Golden girls...

Chester&Mary Tate{Robert Mandan,Katherine Helmond},Burt Campbell{Richard Mulligan},Benson{Robert Guillaume} all from the very funny TV show'Soap' '77-'81 which was a parody of soap operas
the entire cast from funny NBC comedy,'3rd Rock from the Son' '96-'01

George Jefferson (mentioned above) was about my all time favorite character. I enjoyed Laverne & Shirley too ... and the Welcome Back Kotter gang.

Mrs Cunningham in Happy Days
Richie' s mother.
what an attractive woman she was too.
so cute and witty and loveable. she was always part of the family repartee.
I imagine some modern day feminists might say she was a symbol of the oppressed homemaker wife of the fiftees. I dont see that.
