Favorite Comfort Foods That Bring Back Memories?

My #1 all time favorite comfort food that I've indulged in all my life is ice cream. Preferably Haagen Dazs vanilla or rum raisin. Second choice Friendly's royal banana split and sometimes I feel like having mint chocolate chip. I'm actually an ice cream addict, so I can't keep the 48 oz size in the house for but a day or so.

I just had some Haagan Dazs White Chocolate Raspberry Truffle. So good!
But from my childhood it would be fried bread dough. Pieces of bread dough fried like donut and served with Vermont maple syrup. My favorite breakfast!
And another favorite....

I don't remember if I've had the chocolate raspberry truffle. Sounds interesting though. I tried the dulce tres leche, which I wasn't sure I'd like. Amazon Fresh had different flavors of Haagen Dazs that I'd never seen before. Some of them were a very good price so I tried the ones that were $2.49. Haagen Dazs around here runs as high as $5.49 for 14 ounces.

That spaghetti looks appetizing. I haven't had spaghetti in years, but I do make penne pasta from time to time. Seeing that picture has inspired me to make penne...maybe this weekend. I'll either add broccoli florets or a chopped turkey burger.

My mother used to make liver occasionally when I was a child. I think it was only the two of us in the family that liked it. She was a ery good cook and usually served it with saulteed onions and bacon. A splash of ketchup on the side.

I don't make it at home for myself because it mostly comes in containers that contain way more than I can eat in one sitting but most restaurants around here have it on their menu. Problem is, anytime I've ordered it, I find they all over cook it and that just ruins it. Might as well eat the sole of my shoe!

We had bread dough fried in melted Crisco and covered in cinnamon sugar on bread making day, our mother called them bullets but I never understood why.

There is a booth at the State Fair that sells something similar called pizza frite.
