It was hard to pick just one. I went with WC Fields, but I like Laurel & Hardy and the Marx Brothers just as much.

My top Old-school favorites are Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin.

Phyllis Diller, at a time when there wasn't many, if any, female comedians.

We also watched and laughed at Don Rickles, Jackie Mason, Rodney Dangerfield ( I can't get no respect) and Jonathan Winters.

I couldn't appreciate Sid Caeser back then as I was too young. It was reruns later on that I thought were so funny.

No, I can't settle on just one, either. We received a lot of U.S. TV stuff. Comedians who come to mind: Chaplin, Jonathan Winters, Laurel & Hardy, Jackie Gleason & Art Carney, Burns & Allen, Lily Tomlin, Ernie Kovacs.

I voted for Carol Burnett but I think if Abbott gets to have Costello and Laurel gets Hardy, George Burns should get to have Gracie.

You've provided an exceptionally well compiled list of memorable comedians. It makes me happy to know that having seen each of them and found them all good at their craft that I am so main stream. I would add some others: Johnny Carson, Amos & Andy. My vote is Amos & Andy. I always was a real fan of black Hollywood, and miss it terribly.
