What's your favourite type of fish?
Not necessarily for eating....

Salmon, baked in a little butter, drizzle of honey and sprinkled with ginger

For local freshwater fish, it would be bullheads or smelts.

For the Friday night fish fry, it would be haddock.

That looks so good Aunt Bea! I love a good Cod or Haddock filet either baked or fried.

My favorite type of fish is shellfish. For me nothing beats a fried clam and scallop combo plate with some onion rings on the side. Every summer my wife and I go to Woodman's in Essex Mass where the fried clam was invented by original owner Lawrence "Chubby" Woodman. They have really good lobstah rolls there too! In the summer time the line is out the door and down the street. On hot days they hand out free lemonade to people waiting outside in line.

To eat; oddly, smelt…smoked…in my smoker
They haven’t been present in Washington (Cowlitz River) for some time now…sad
Now using my smelt dipping net to gently coax nuthatches and humming birds from the rafters of my shop

To hook into; easy….steelhead

To dine out on; tuna, salmon, halibut…on the coast….fresh

I love all fish..hard to pick a favorite but like RR, I don’t care for mackerel.

Havent had smelt in ages but loved it and made it often in my previous life as a wife and mom.

Since they were so small, I’d butterfly them, remove the bone and dip in a seasoned flour then just pan fry...yum!!

I never see them anymore in stores...wonder why?

I also like catfish but havent eaten that in ages either...seldom see it and if I remember right it’s kind of fatty.

The fish I eat the most is salmon and I do sometimes tire of it...salmon overload.

I like keeping bettas, but these days, since we like to travel, they're just one more pet to have to make arrangements for. I now have an invisible fish in my maintained, small tank. No food or cleaning ever needed. Cool. If you're asking about eating (formerly) live fish, I can only say that anything that flies, runs or swims away from some creature wanting to eat it is not wanting to be killed and eaten. GO VEGAN!

I love Fish... mainly shellfish.

I have a Kilo of King Scallops in the freezer right now ..I'm a greedy mare for calamari

Not to keen on Plaice or cod... and I hate any fish that has lots of bones like sardines, pilchards and kippers...

Love Wild trout and salmon... have it at least once a week...

Used to eat a lot of swordfish until I found it contained mercury....

I'm not much of a fish eater, but I'll have a tuna salad sandwich occasionally. I love other seafood like shrimp, crab, etc.

Very soothing to watch fish in an aquarium.

Grew up eating catfish every weekend that my dad caught in our (mercury-laden) lake. So did my four siblings and we have all (so far) lived to tell about it. We are ages 63-81. But I don`t think I`ve eaten catfish once since I got married. Not that I don`t like it-just haven`t. Love pretty much all fish-salmon,halibut,sole,cod and super love shellfish-crab,shrimp and scallops especially.

Can't say it's my "favorite" because I can't get it here, but about the best fish I've ever had was barramundi. Had it a few times at restaurants in northern Queensland. Outstanding!

The fish I eat once a week at home is Norwegian salmon (or Atlantic if not available), sprinkled with Ol' Bay seasoning and grilled in the oven. Other fish I like are anything mild like Mahi Mahi, Halibut, etc. Shellfish I like are crab and shrimp. Love to watch fish in aquariums or while snorkeling in Hawaii, best aquarium fish for me are the salt-water. I've had fresh water aquariums in the past but didn't have much luck with them...may still have an aquarium someday if we no longer take vacations every year, don't like to leave any of my pets home when I go out of town.

Halibut, Sole .. Whiting and Butterfish that I had in Australia. Also solid white tuna packed in water (tinned).

I have a strong allergy to fatty fish like salmon.
