As some of you know, I've been waffling about replacing the old, ugly carpet in this house. It was on our project list but when hubby died in October, I halted all further updates. I wanted it done but didn't want to spend the money....know what I mean?
Last week, I had Home Depot come in and measure all the rooms so I'd know the total square feet/yardage that was needed and then I'd have an idea about the price range I'd be able to look at. So, the guy came on Thursday and I got a text later that day that my measurements were received and I needed to call them (whomever "them" was) and tell them what I'd picked out. I hadn't picked out anything yet because I don't know what I can afford.
On Friday, I got a call from our HD store and asked if I knew what I wanted. I told him, no, because I wanted to know the room measurements first. He gave me an 800 number to call. I called and told her I wanted the measurements. She said I'd have to go to the store and pick out what I wanted and then the store would contact them and they would give me a price. WHAT???
Does this make any sense or am I just dense?? Don't answer that. My late husband and I had HD replace carpet in 3 other homes we had owned over the years and it wasn't a problem. We always got a print-out of the rooms with the measurements and then we had a total of yardage/square feet. I'm so disgusted. Maybe I'm keeping this ugly carpet a while longer.
