Feeling happy sad for my niece.

First loves 👩‍❤️‍💋‍👨 ...they're head over heels. He leaves Saturday for Annapolis. She won't have phone contact with him for seven weeks and the first (one of the only times until Christmas break) weekend she could see him again in person is a freshman event at her university that's required. She's so proud of him, but plebe year is tough on loved ones. She won't even talk to my sister about his leaving ...she's trying to hold it together while he's still here.

They both graduated with highest honors academically and accumulated tons of other achievement awards between the two of them. He does not like pics but indulged her a lot! that night.

Here's another of her cheezing for the camera and I cropped it to highlight her beautiful gray eyes. 😍

You're in love too. With them! Your niece is a lucky girl.

I surely am with her! She was born under a lucky star: beauty, brains, friendly, natural athletic ability, loving parents committed to developing her gifts. There's an award at her school given each year for an exemplary Senior. She won it and statements were posted by classmates and staff who voted for her and why they did. The most common descriptor was 'compassionate' ...we're not sure where that came from because my sister and her husband can both get fiesty and stubborn. She always has been though ...even as a small child, if she thought someone was hurting or sad, she'd give a hug.
