Fellow Book Worms...Would This Make You Angry?

Today was our town library book sale. Unlike my favorite library a few miles away this one is fairly small. The sale is held in the basement. Stifling heat and small room for more than twenty or thirty people. I still don't exactly know the enemy, but there were maybe a busload of people. All had smart phones and were methodically scanning boxes of books. I'm thinking they're looking for resale value. But they were everywhere like roaches.

Maybe it was hormones, maybe allergies, but I wasn't feeling very well to begin with. Normally book sales are great treasure hunting for me. But everywhere you turned were people scanning and blocking whole carts. Then they were hauling boxes up to the volunteers and quibbling about paying 50 cents versus a whole dollar for certain titles. Bastards, for me I began to get confrontational. I might have accidently clocked some folks upside the head with a very heavy book bag:mad:

But I got my books and when I got home wrote an email to the library director. Basically I know they probably make good money from these resale people but it's rude to us who buy books for our personal pleasure. I suggested they set aside an hour or two at the end of the sales day for the resale people to scan at leisure. But for the general sale tell the volunteers not to allow scanning and gently tell the people acceptable hours. Really between frustration and the heat of the room I had trouble getting back to my car GRRRRRRRR
