Female police recruits in Indonesia must be virgins!

They must take a humiliating examination to make sure that their hymen is intact to join the force. Naturally, men do not have to be as there would be no way of telling. Any thoughts on this unusual requirement?
 

So obviously married women cannot join the force. Could be because being a cop is a dangerous job they do not want women with children being on the force.

Twisted logic actually, a virgin could join, lose her virginity and how they gonna prove that....yearly testing.
 

Well, it would be hard to find virgins in many countries these days... :D
 
Well, we can't smell your breath so we will take your word for it. Never heard of the movie but if it is on Netflix I will check it out...

Nothing like putting females out there with a huge sign on them stating "Virgin"... Nice prey for every local pervert. I'm thinking it's just to discourage women from joining the PD without having to forbid it.
 
I wondered if you would comeupon this story Ralph as I raised it in the "other place" Indonesia is a Muslim nation and the lawmakers place great store in female chastity. The reason that females need to undertake a physical examination before they enter the police force is ...well should say the reason given is that the Indonesian authorities do not want "Prostitutes " entering the police force. the implication being that a non virgin unmarried woman is a prostitute. Just a sad example of the standing of women in this nation
 
Yes, I saw the photo of a long line of female recruits so maybe the job pays well. And about that "other place" they are probably happy not having me commenting on the Ferguson matter... :D
