FHP Trooper dies in pursuit

A heavy heart as a local Florida Highway Patrol Trooper dies in pursuit. A semi-truck driver was also killed in the collision with the trooper. Suspect was caught. Young trooper, whole life ahead of him. Just doing his job to try to keep the rest of us safe. Hits close to home as we are an LEO family, past and present.

It sure is... and I've seen some really ugly things along the I95 corridor.

I heard someone say, and I’m paraphrasing, “The ultimate sacrifice wasn’t made when he died in the line of duty, but in the life he led, never knowing what the next danger would be, the families affected by the sleepless nights, the activities missed with the family, the breakfast that was skipped with his fiancé.” The sacrifices that our LEO’s, firefighters, military, the list goes on, is made during their lives. Yeah, this one hit close to home. I didn’t know Trooper Zach Fink, but I know many like him. Praying for that family, Troop L, and for all LEO’s out there.
