Financial Theft - Don't Trust Phone Calls

Thanks for the warning.
Yes, I have a local bank. I know everyone who works there, and they know my banking habits. One of them would call me in the event any unusual transaction was attempted before it was acted upon.

The financial institutions I deal with send out emails warning that these scams exist, letting customers know that information scammers ask for would never be asked by the institution's representatives. They even have information about how to avoid these scams on their websites.

No, I don't have a local bank or even a brick and mortar bank. I've had an online bank for almost 15 years without any problems. No banks or financial institutions have tried calling or texting me either. The only bank problems I've had were the large corporate banks trying nickel and dime me, excessive fees and poor customer service.

Never trust a phone number, link or email address you get in a message. Always look up the real ones and use that. Also, neither Microsoft nor Apple or anyone else will ever email you saying that they see you are having a problem. First off they don't care, and second, if you call them saying you are having a problem they will deny any responsibility for it.
