Fire in Northern California. Butte County. No Containment.

I wish they could also cancel all the illegal, non-professional fireworks.
I agree. Was lucky not to hear any at all this year. I wonder if people would have been afraid the police could have been called. The houses up the road and in the surrounding neighborhood are very nice but most years there have been firecrackers and it always bothered me.

@Remy this is the town I was born in. It breaks my heart. Our house was on the olive hwy. Hope they get it gone soon
Oh wow. Yes, I know Olive Highway. I didn't watch the news this evening or yesterday because I worked late yesterday. But I believe evacuations are lifted.

All of that brush, bracken, scrub, and dead grasses though. And that's after clearing and building in the area! Aren't these gigantic raging fires inevitable in such places?

How can people get insurance coverage to qualify for mortgages to construct homes in these areas?

They ignore the risk. Don't listen to reason. Live for the moment. Is as it is by its nature.
Loose everything, start over, loose everything, start over and repeat.

People live in Tornado Alleys; Tornados scrub every square inch over the centuries. Loose everything & start over.

Last month a Farmers house was totally ablaze with a rural fire. Fire department sprays above the tallest flame with a
High reach rig to contain the blaze just to the house. Loose everything and start over.
