Fire started about an hour ago, saw the smoke and flames out the window, called 911.

Not super hot(low 90s F) here, but all the tall weeds from fall/winter heavy rains are now real dry. The wind has just been relentless for many weeks, was driving the brush fire that one of the neighbors started.Oh 'ec

There is a prison inmate fire crew putting out stray embers, fire vehicles wrapping it up.

The guy on the other side of the next door neighbor started it, hopefully accidentally. It's kind of a dumb move to create a fire in a 30 MPH wind...

A blooming idiot. One doesn’t do anything with fire in dry, hot areas. Discarded cigarettes are a common cause.

Today’s Marin Independent Journal had a major article outlining the danger to health of the smoke from summer fires. The danger is considerable, and in some ways comparable to cigarette smoking. In the past we have seen considerable smoke from distant fires, hope this summer isn’t the same.

We have several room HEPA air purifiers that we use during fire season and I have HEPA filters on my CPAP machine. That helps a lot during heavy smoke and ash fall.
