First Movie You Ever Saw In a Theatre?

I think it was Old Yeller. It may have been Bambi. If it was something else, it had no impact.

The first movie I remember seeing in a theater was a bad choice. I was around 6. Our mom would dump all 3 of us at a movie theater whenever she didn't want us around. We saw "The Pit & The Pendulum, "Ben Hur," etc. She didn't care what was playing.
Then, she'd yell at us when we had nightmares & couldn't sleep.
She was mean & not very bright.

Bambi. And my baby sister cried a lot, not because Bambi's mom got shot (oops, spoiler...sorry) but just because she was cranky. Me and my brothers were so annoyed. Even so, we took turns holding her and entertaining her. Ruined the plot-continuity, but dad made everything ok - li'l Bonnie fell asleep before the 1st showing ended, and dad let us stay for the entire second showing! Simultaneous Bonus: stayed up way past our bedtime and shared a second tub of popcorn!

Wait....that was at a Drive-In.

I'm fairly certain the first movie I ever saw in a theater was Goldfinger.

In 1956, I was taken to see a Western starring Victor Mature, not sure what is was called. I got very upset when a baby died and I went home with a head-ache.

Six after winning the weekly primary class reward. On a huge entertainment boat anchored at the Pier. It showed two Disney films every Saturday. It was sponsoring primary and secondary school in the three main cities. To this day cannot watch Bambi!

Seven! Papa and Gramps had a mutual friend working at the local cinema. I got to watch "Lady Whirlwind" a 60s karate, judo, Jujitsu & taekwondo subtitled. This was a regular cinema.... Yup, I was way under age but those Chinese Kung Fu films were great memories on summer's Wednesdays.
