Flowering frenzy...

African violets...have colorful blooms and fuzzy leaves.
If the conditions are right...and 'if you' know how to care for them...
they can be kept in constant bloom.

As much as I have tried..have never been successful with them.
Even though...I'm "pretty good" with most all other plants.

Who's the African Violet 'queen'?
(Sorry, guys.. couldn't resist🤭)

I never had success with those freakin' violets, either!

Oh @Jace 🤩
Very good questions, and I wish I was the member who could claim that crown! 😁

But no, that type of plant is one of the ones, whose flowering success eludes me!

I will wait here, with you,
and with the rest of our otherwise-successful plant parents, 'till the real Queen or King of Violets arrives at SF! 😆😄☺️

Another 'bugaboo' for me , too...is the Orchid.

Have tried 3 times..failed, failed, and..more failure.
Oh! Well...we all can't be true horticulturists! 😒
I never did either, yet I remember seeing them thrive while growing on the side of steep mountains in the Northern end of the island of Okinawa. There they were, unattended and almost unreachable by humans. I always thought that was a lesson for us.

Another Suicide Plant is the Gardenia.

My ex MIL had the knack. It sat on a lightly shaded front porch all summer and bloomed.

In the fall, they put it in the basement, under a small basement window...very little light while it rested. The thing was quite large!
The same here. My mother-in-law always had several African violet plants, and they were gorgeous. They sat on a table near a window in her den out of direct sunlight. I've tried and have had no luck with them. I gave up.

Yup ⬆️
Then, one March..tried..the glorious Shamrock
Well, that lasted🤔 a month or two.

Looks like I can only grow...
what might be considered 'weeds'! 🤣😂😃

I Love those orchids, too!
Wish I could have success with them!

😄
