Folding glass patio doors

So many home improvement shows are installing the folding or sliding glass patio doors that span an entire wall. While very pretty, all I think about is, what is coming into those houses that might not be welcome...i.e. flies, mosquitos, wasps, rodents, spiders. (I've even had birds fly into my garage when the door was open.)

I don't think I would want to "let the outside in" no matter how cool it looks. I'm just wondering if it becomes a problem for the owners or if I might be manufacturing a problem that doesn't exist?

I totally think your logic is correct. Even if there weren‘t any bugs, the last things I’d want is a critter or bird in my house. I spotted a bird in the grocery store the other day.

Maybe the owners figured out to install a rolling screen or something. Being from Kentucky, I would definitely try some "southern engineering"!

I should feel like a fish in a goldfish bowl! One great thing about where I live is that no-one can see into my windows....unless they are sitting on the roof. I could walk around naked and no-one would know.

I didn't think about neighbors looking in! That would be awkward. I suppose it's a good way to show off your furniture!

Far better, IMO, to just open some windows on a nice mild day. Opening the house like this would certainly result in all sorts of "critters" seeking some shade. When I'm working outdoors, and have my workshop doors open, I almost always have to chase a couple of birds out before I close up.

These window/doors would be lovely for places that have those screened Florida rooms.
I agree! They sure are pretty and if a screened in porch was attached it would be a wonderful idea. (If I could afford it! They're kinda pricey. :sneaky:)
