For several weeks now I have been noticing what I thought were small AAA batteries.
On closer inspection I see they are discarded cigarette butts were health warnings.
New strategy to discourage people smoking.
Health warning on the fag ends.

Canada was actually the first country in the world to enact legislation to have bits of anti-smoking copy on the paper wrapped around cigarette filters. Retailers had to begin the roll out early 2024. It will have no immediate effect, just as putting horrible pictures of smokers with illnesses on the packaging but overall, this stuff is seen & sits there in the smoker's subconscious so maybe that helps some?

I actualy can't remember the last time I saw a discarded cigarette butt.... however I do live semi rurally... and it would probably be very different if I went into the city...
