i think weather guy was hyping the storm a bit in my area... middle of NJ. YES, it's damn cold out... only a few degrees over 0 when windchill is factored in. i fully expected everything to be dangerously coated with ICE, and was pleasantly surprised to be wrong about that. apartment complex sent out email advising us to leave water dripping... potential for frozen pipes.

Midwest here, and 'baby it's cold outside!' Water dripping? Not at my house, I have to keep the water running to keep my pipes from freezing, lol, so much for insulation.

Thank you Mike. It's very cold here (northern N.J.) at minus 14 with the wind chills, but nowhere near as cold as other places, so we're good. Our apartment is toasty too. The video reminds me of when a channel (PBS maybe) used to post the Yule log at Christmas.

Upstate NY here. Today at 10:30 am it was minus 8 deg F. Cleaned off my car, but it was a job. It warmed up to 9 deg F about 1 PM. The wind has lessened, snow has stopped today.
Tomorrow will be cold again. Ah, well...

52F and wet, Seattle area. SeaTac is now open, but you can't fly east US because of Eastern US cold weather or planes are out of placement.

This has been the coldest Christmas eve and Christmas day I ever remember! We got rain, no snow, but the temps are frigid. I'm cooking and cooking to keep warm and to nurse my injury. No Xmas celebrations for me today. I'll spend it here. It's so cold even the tree passed out!
