For planning purposes, how do you change the bed?

Actually I don't sleep in my bed often. Maybe every few months when my back hurts from sleeping on the couch. I don't even know where that came from. Maybe around the time I bought a new comfortable couch and tv at the same time. Sometimes I lay across the bed and watch TV for awhile, then back in the living room to go to sleep. I check my sheets once in awhile to make they still clean.

I find it a lot easier to change the sheets on an adjustable base mattress versus a traditional mattress. I can access all 4 corners by raising the head & foot of the bed to a fully upright position making it much much much less of a physical chore to get those clean sheets on.

King Water Bed. It takes a good strong foundation. Best sleeping and adjust the water temps.
I had a large Man Cave in the Basement on Cement Floor sitting on Cement Blocks. Waterbed,
Best ever. It was like Weekend Catching up on rest best place. Middle 90's after the kids split.
Moved early 2000's and sold it with the old place. I had learned the power of the mancave basement.

Declaw the cat though!

I have no problems making the queen size bed as long as both sides are away from the wall. I first add the fitted bottom sheet, then the top sheet and comforter. It doesn’t take me long.

At 83 & wife at 80 never thought about changing bed sheets as a problem. No set pattern of doing it individually or helping each other. We sleep apart so two queen size beds need changed. Probably most helpful is the bottom sheets have labels showing sides, that and they are 16" deep fitted for the 16" mattresses. Working together for sure is easier but not really a problem individually.

@CooCooforCoCoPuffs I came across a Youtube called "5 easy tips to make your bed" by Clean That Up. It is a young guy directing the video. I thought it was well done, perhaps it could help you to make that task easier.

Declawing a cat is cruel.

At nearly 70, I have begun to notice changing the linens on our queen bed mattress is getting more and more challenging as the years pass. Both DH and I can each still change the bed 100% our own, but have begun to prefer each other's extra help with the task. We find ourselves wondering how others, who just physically can't do the bed linen change routine each week, solve the problem? We consider we will need to pay someone to come in and do the bed linens change. So if any of you have done this, or figured it out, what pointers? What does an hour of help to make a bed run these days? We do not have relatives/friends that can run by to help.
At 73, and now being able to walk due to my knee replacement, I find this much easier… I think one of the keys is to have enough space all the way around the sides and bottom of the bed that you can walk around to adjust and pull on the sheets. I have a really thick queen mattress and there are times when I thought that just using a. A flat king size sheet for the bottom might be easier, but I haven’t tried that yet.

Thank you for the mattress tip @Aunt Bea Are those the kind that come rolled, very compressed and they go to full size once out of the wrapping?
Yes!

It was like a scene from I love Lucy when the thing started to come to life!

It was also quite heavy but I was fortunate that the young FedEx delivery man carried it up to my third floor apartment instead of dropping it at the front door.

Declawing is inhumane. There must be a better solution.
