1965: Saw them at McCormick Place, in Chicago. Bo Diddley and We Five, were on the bill. They were really great, Diddley was Diddley (same melody line, same chords, same tremelo, different lyrics, over, and over, and....), We Five got loudly booed. They were pretty bad. Their drummer's floor tom went rolling off the riser, as he played. That got a hand, and a big laugh.

We played the hell out of that tune in our regular repertoire. To this day, when I jam with my first guitarist, from 1964, we play that tune, first.
