For those of us who once fell in love with geology

I began collecting stones when I was a child. Around my house, then on vacations.
I still collect (purchase) them and have a good size collection of many species that I enjoy.
Only where I live there is no place to collect quality rocks and few chances to buy them.
Certainly not over the internet. I have been gypped. In recent years prices have
soared for high quality crsytals., due to rich collectors (in U.S.) Very expensive.

Other people do not understand my love of them.

I have a rock collection and my favorites are the agates. A person used to be able to find them on the shores of Lake Superior. That is a thing of the past unless you own a private beach.

I never come back from vacation without several pounds of rocks.

I had a large rock in my carry-on one time and the TSA agent pulled my bag. He called his supervisor over and asked him to take a look at the screen. I said, "Oh, that's probably my rock." The supervisor said, "Yeah, it looks like a rock to me, but I have to pull it out of the bag and make sure. Besides, I told him that if he called me over again here for a rock, I was going to take it out of the bag and beat him to death with it." Gotta love a TSA agent with a sense of humor.....and an eye for rocks.

I've got some rocks --- some big that I keep on my balcony. Then there are the polished semi precious stones of various sizes waiting to be made into jewelry as well as some crystals and plain old pebbles. I've also got a few old water worn bricks found along our lakeshore.
