Our forecast for the NE Ohio area called for 4-8 inches of snow but we got a foot at least. On the roof outside my window there is more than a foot of it. I'd say about 14 inches. I walked outside to see how much snow was out there. The picture is not of where I live but looks similar to how the street looked this morning after it was plowed of course.

I got 2 phone calls from the new Mayor of Cleveland who left a recorded message telling me how many trucks they have out there trying to clear the streets. But I live right next to Cleveland but not in that city. It made me wonder who is doing the snow plowing in my city or if the Mayor just called all the numbers with the same area code. Who knows.

Anyhow the snow is not done yet. There is lake effect snow forecast for this morning.

I wanted to see some snow but geez this is a bit too much. Luckily I don't live in the snowbelt where they got 25+ inches!

We have approximately 6" of snow on the ground.

My street looks similar to the picture. The main street, at the corner, is clear to the pavement.

Without all of the media hype, it would be just another winter day.
Yep, the media likes to be full of hype about so many things. I couldn't hardly believe that the weather was the top and first story on the news today. The weather story lasted about 10 minutes and after a few more news stories the weather came on again.

I sometimes wonder if the news gives people more nervousness than anything else.

We got about what was predicted here. 4 inches and freezing rain and roads. Today is going to be in the low 50's so the ice and snow will melt. In a few days the temp will drop to about 4 degrees. Our wood stove is keeping us nice and cozy.

While house cleaning for a lawyer/judge and his social worker wife she was heading off to work when she asks me if I wanted to hear a joke.
( Warning : Might be offensive to some but it was a good one )

"What's the difference between Lorena Bobbitt and Randy Wright" ( local TV weather man )?

When Lorena says there will be 4 inches on the ground, she's right. :)

Growing up, I used to live just outside of Cleveland, and your photo reminds me of the times we got snowed in! Brings back many memories! Stay warm!

Lived here all my life. I've lived in several suburbs and also the city of Cleveland at times, too. Yes! I will stay warm :giggle: I have 2 layers of clothes on now.

That's a lot of snow you got, @Ruthanne !
And I do know about the total, when it includes that lake-effect snow, in Ohio and western New York State.
That is a great deal of snow, even for those of us who are used to snowy winters.
Many Winters we didn't get much snow being right on the lake. For some reason it's worse inland. This time, though, that Lake Erie snow machine was crankin out snow like crazy. Some cities near are still digging out.

Me too ... I lived east of Cleveland growing up. Always snowy winters!
I still remember a winter in early 1950's when the National Guard had to come and rescue us out of a ditch! .. (Gramps was driving)
