For those with tinnitus....

High pitched buzzing, like an old tube TV or radio warming up. Sometimes it's hardly noticable, other times I can hardly hear anything else, usually when I wake up. Probably snore so loud it causes it.

Whooshing in my right ear that began 10 years ago. It came on after a couple of big operations and very strong meds for four months. Since then, I've also been on an anti-hormonal, which may also be to blame. I'll be off the anti-hormonal by the end of this year, and I'm hoping the tinnitus goes with it.

It has gotten better over the past couple of years, and sometimes I don't even notice it. I use a noise machine at night (small air cleaner) and there's always some noise in the house (mostly husband's TV.) Since B-12 may help and I'm not a big meat eater, my husband gives me a B-12 shot from time to time. I also take a good multivitamin just in case.

I also noticed that even a few sips of wine will bring it on.

Mine has subsided quite a bit since I retired over ten years ago. I only have it intermittently in one ear, I was using earbuds to listen to the radio at night so I wouldn't disturb my husband, and that definitely aggravated it and woke it up again. Now I just put my tiny radio, kind of like those old transistors, under my pillow. Luckily mine rarely bothers me, when it does it's short term. Mine is like the high pitched sound they use in hearing tests.
