His real name was Allen. He was such a wonderful giving/loving man and had become the best friend I've had in a long time. For all of you who sent thoughts and prayers for him I do so appreciate that. He will be missed. Rest in peace Allen.

His sister sent me this last night & I just found it this morning:

We are feeling great loss and immense grief. Allen passed away on the 8th from complications after his last surgery. First he had 2 pulmonary embolisms and then a heart attack, then they resusitated him from the heart attack and he had a stroke (they called it a CVA) followed right away by a massive a massive heart attack. It seemed like thay did everything they could, they worked on him so long and so hard but it was just too much going wrong all at once they couldn't save him.

Allen was cremated as he wished to be on the 11th.

Thank you and everyone for your prayers and well wishes.

Sincerely,

****

His picture you sometimes see ^ above..

This is completely inadequate to say goodbye to such a lovely friend, but it was all I can muster right now.
For You Allen

I will picture you in laughing in golden fields
next to seas of blue that are sunshine kissed
holding the hand of your true love once more
the wife you so dearly missed

And though we will miss you ever so much
and right now we mourn as one
at least your pain has ended
and your new life has just begun

Sorry to hear this BW.. I am sending my best thoughts to you and to his family. He sounds like he was a really nice man.. My condolences.
Thank you. Shali and others knew him too, but I'm not sending that message to her right now.

Blunderwoman, I send my condolences for the loss of your friend Allen (Wrigleys). I had some limited interactions with him on this forum and he seemed a decent, thoughtful person. I'm sure he will be missed. Thanks for letting us know of his passing. Many of us on this board have developed close ties with each other, through shared common interests. It's always tough to lose that connection.

I am so, so sorry to hear Allen passed away. My deepest sympathy to his family and to you.

See I'm still at that place where relatives have passed on but not my generation exactly. Scares me to death, I remember best buddie's Moms funeral. If I have to bury him too. My Dad was active with various veteran groups from WWII. At 94 he has seen most of them pass. I remember Allen, really rest in peace son.

I've been talking with his sister. He has novels to be published. He won't be forgotten. Thank you to all who so graciously cared enough to wish him farewell :) Strangely, I felt very comforted this morning & jotted this down..

Good Morning Allen

You're free now from anything that would bind you
soaring and exploring
leaving bad things all behind you
and I know you have shed
the sticky darkness
you're a super nova
the birth of a new star
traveling , shining
healing light
where you may be
and this morning
I awoke
with bad back smiling
and I feel happy
I feel you here
radiating light
my friend
and I stretch
my palms up to the sky
and I say
good morning Allen
nice to know
you're here
this morning

What a nice tribute, BW, I add my condolences.

Such a lovely man, Allen was. Thoughtful, kind, respectful, generous - a bright spark with such a zest for life. Condolences to BW and Allen's family. He will be greatly missed.
