How do you add a quote or signature to the bottom box below one's posts?

Click on your avatar/name in the upper right-hand corner (on the blue band), and select Signature.

Click on your Name Top of page,then your account,when that opens about half way down is "Signature" click on that and type in what ever you want

A lot of us like to put our location there, to save from explaining what we mean by "such and such happens here" ... so where's "here"?

Some don't; it's certainly not a "must".
